Why did your spouse praise you lately?

My husband hardly praises me. Nowadays my interest of painting is back. So I spend some time on painting. One night I painted an old painting, I asked my husband how it looked. Actually I knew it didn't look well as I had never painted oil painting before. My husband said it looked so beautiful and said our family was going to have a great painter Perhaps at that time he was afraid I would bother him more so that he would said such a big lie

My situation is quite funny. Although my wife is my biggest fan in everything I do, she blames everyhthing on me. I think it quite funny anyway. She wantsme to b better than those people who boast and brag alot. For example, some people heard that we were looking to purchase a car and one of my wife's relatives approached us and said that he would be able to get us a good deal on a good car because he had done it for lots of other people. I thought, well that would be a good idea, but my wife told me later on that I can do a better job than her relative ever could and that I was much smarter than he was etc..Bottom line was, she told me that if I couldn't purchase a car for us then just leave it. So you see, being praised has it's downside to it as well.

In fact there are still some reasons that I am not so active lately. I may have an operation by the end of this month. So sometimes I spend more time searching the information about it via the net. And sometimes I paint pictures to relax myself.

I am blessed in that my husband is always praising me for something. Today it was because I am able to stay so calm and organized no matter what the situation is. I can handle anything lie throws at me, and encourage and support him the whole time I'm doing it, while still taking time to take care of myself.

I have been missing you too, youless. My husband praises me occasionally...usually its for my cooking but sometimes its for my painting too. I have started acrylic painting. Its not very good but I enjoy it so much. I usually show him and ask him how it looks and then he'll say "its good", so I probably put him on the spot, lol.
I would love to see some of your paintings if you ever decide to post them on here. I have not tried oil and I've just started acrylic.

If his tone was just normal you take it that he didnot want to hurt your feelings. That would help you be in greater peace. On the other hand if his voice was sarcastic then you can give the explanatiion who have just given.
Though he is not the person to lavish praise if he is not the person who would just not criticise too much then may be he was just in the mood for some encouraging words.
You ask him straight if what he said was really honest or was he just pulling your leg?[teasing you in good spirit]?

LOL, You are funny youless! For sure that is real and sincere appreciation from your hubby..I myself appreciate anyone's output about painting since I have no skills for that!
In my case, when I made more that what I expect here, my hubby praised me since he has no patience for this type of job! LOL!

My husband always praises my cooking but sometimes it is the opposite. I have become lazy to cook more elaborate meals cos i wanted to surf the net. I cook as long as it can be eaten. Giving me praises is telling me to cook good food next time! This kind of praise is unwelcome.

I don't remember the last time my husband praised me for anything... it was always criticism... and i actually felt relieved when he left to work abroad... i guess this is one reason why our marriage is not working out... and i don't know what will happen when he comes back... well, i just have to wait for that to happen...
