What to do when you have a cold/flu and have no medicine or time to rest?

I have a massive cold/flu and I am feeling,
terrible (for want of a better, stronger, expletive
word). I have four young children (so I can't
just go to bed), I have a birthday party tonight
(so I can't just go to bed times two!), the cake
just bubbled over the edge of the pan and burnt
in my oven and made a smokey house which set of
the smoke alarms which frightened the kids AND I
have this massive cold/flu that is really making
everything that is going wrong feel worse!
I took some panadol this morning, rubbed chest
rub on my chest and had myself a coffee - in the
hopes to get a caffiene hit! So far nothing is
helping and I need some motivation to move!
Does anyone have any home remedies that I can
try to boost me or make my cold/flu not feel so bad?
Mylot discussions are the only thing keeping me
sane at the moment - anything else - home remedies
that I can do to get me through this day.
I still have all the party foods and a baked
dinner to get ready for tonight.
People start arriving in about an hour and a
half - eeek

Anyone else having a day like me?
Oh and I have no lemon and honey either!
I hope my cake cooks - it is all wobbly and
soft and was supposed to be baked an hour ago!
- can you tell I am in a panic?
