To those of you who may not know who Michael Turner is, Turner was one of the greatest artist that the comic book industry had to offer, and on June 27th, 2008 he passed away from a long battle with cancer. Here is information on him and his death from the 4 Color Fantasy website: "On June 27, superstar artist Michael Turner, creator of Fathom and Soulfire and founder of Aspen MLT, died in Santa Monica, CA at the age of 37. In addition to his creator-owned titles, Turner's distinctive art graced numerous covers published by some of the comic industry's leading companies. His super-star status in the comic industry was first secured following his work for Image Comics/Top Cow Productions, including the co-creation of Top Cow's flagship title Witchblade. In the last several years, Turner provided DC Comics with distinctive artwork that set titles like Action Comics, Superman, Justice League of America, Superman Batman and the groundbreaking Identity Crisis apart. For Marvel Comics, Turner made an impact with his covers for Wolverine: Origins, the era-changing Civil War, Ultimate X-Men and most recently the landmark Uncanny X-Men #500. Diagnosed with cancer in 2000, he had been suffering from health complications in recent weeks. Our condolences to the Turner family. Those wishing to extend their own condolences to the Turner family may send them to: Aspen MLT, Inc. c/o Michael Turner 5855 Green Valley Circle, Suite 111 Culver City, CA90230 Aspen also encourages charitable donation to the American Cancer Society" If anyone like to talk about it or mourn for Mr. Turner, feel free to do so here because, he truly was one of the best, and he will be greatly missed.

Thank you for your post. Yes, I was to hear that he passed away because he looked just fine the last time I saw, but you never know what can lie beneathe a person and you know the old saying, "Looks can be deceiving". Anyway, Mike Turner was just an awesome artist. Whenever a comic book or graphic novel was drawn by him, I knew I was going to buy it because it always looked so beautiful.
