Personally I'm not big on buying a lot of the new technological gadgets...especially when they first come on the market because they usually have a lot of "bugs" that need to be taken care of before they run properly. I came across this article this morning and was surprised to see the Top 5 list because I know people have been buying them since they first appeared on the shelves in stores. "There are always advantages to waiting; it's just a matter of, do you have the patience?" says David Carnoy, executive editor for electronics review site CNET. "You have to decide whether you really need that gadget right now." Have you purchased any of these gadgets and what are your experiences with them? If you haven't what are your reasons for not buying them? http://money.aol.com/top5/general/gadgets

I am not in any risk of buying most of the gadgets on the top five. I do have Vista on one of my computers, but they are no longer supplying XP so you have little choice. Oh, you can pay for an older version of XP, but then you have to actually buy the copy in order to downgrade your operating system.

Not a big gadget purchaser. I think the last one we have in the house, was given as a gift. It's a magic bullet. And it actually comes in handy sometimes. Checked the list. Have got Vista on the new computer. The computer came with it. Not a choice we made.

Nope I'm not really into gadgets unless it can really be of real value and service to me....I would have no interest at all for instance in the iPhone ...first it cost too much, and second I'm just not into cell type phones to begin with...don't even have one. As for Windows Vista...I have a Mac computer so can't use it anyway, but even if I did, I've heard so many problems with it. Digital Readers? Nope again...I'm not really good at reading too much on a computer...I'm of the old school and love to have a physical book in my hand to read. The only gadget I would think of getting, and I'm going to have to get one soon is that converter for my TV...I don't have digital TV and as you know in February 2009 all TVs need to be digitized otherwise you won't get anything.

I checked the list and so far, I haven't purchased anything on it. Well, I was sort of planning to buy vista but I only have a mediocre PC and the requirements for Vista is staggering to my budget. I'd have do a heavy upgrade on my PC for it to work almost flawlessly. As for the rest of the items, I don't see myself buying them as of now. Well, most probably my reason is I don't need them and my budget would be devastated a lot and may as well affect my necessities. And they're expensive! I usually wait for a while until prices drop even for something I've wanted for so long. And my goodness, prices are reduced by a big chunk as months/years go by. I also agree on the fact that most of the new gadgets have bugs and loopholes on them that are kind of serious that affects the operation of the gadget. It's disappointing to content with it at some point. It's more preferable to buy when these have been sorted out.
