I'm not involved in one yet, my kids are still very young and need my constant surveliance/love. If you would like to start something like this online, I'll do my best to participate. I'm always interested in starting new things. What would you be interested in starting with?

Not sure what we would start with. I guess we would have to throw some ideas out there and vote on it once we had more people involved. Let's see how much feedback we get and go from there. :-)

That sounds great! I'm reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest right now, maybe we could start with that. What do you think?

Starting a book club is something I have pondered for a while. It sounds like it would be a fun way to get together with people and have an intellectual discussion. It is certainly a possibility for the future, although I have so much else going on in my life at this moment that now just isn't the time for me. I believe I would also be hard-pressed to find someone with similar taste in writing and literature as I have!

I have never belonged to a book club. I just borrow books from my mom when I want to read them and I really don't want to talk about the book when I am done reading it so a bookclub is not for me. Have a nice day.

I have never been in a book club but have always been intrigued by the idea of one. For one thing, I think a book club opens your eyes to other genres and authors that you wouldn't normally read. So in that sense, it's a great idea. I don't know how disciplined I would be if I joined the club though. I love to read and I read a lot. However, I generally read based on what I feel like reading in that moment. I wouldn't want to join a club, get assigned a book and then disappoint everyone and myself by not feeling like reading or finishing a book I'm not interested in. I think a book club would work better if everyone in it had generally similar interests and tastes. Then at least the books that are assigned/recommended are usually ones you would be interested in.
