If I could only have one child, then I wouldn't care if the child was a boy or girl. I would be happy to just have a child. I have a nine year old girl and would love to have a little boy soon. My hubby and I are working on having more kids and if we can't then we have decided to adopt. Though my daughter does drive me crazy sometimes, I still believe that children are blessings.

No problem! This was a good discussion to start. It makes us be happy with what we have and be blessed for it.

I prefer a daughter. We have more things in common and they have lots of cuter clothes than little boys.

If me and my fiance could only have one child it would not matter to me if it was a boy or girl, because it would be our child and I would still love it,and I would still protect it and do everything I could for it no matter what.

I have one daughter. We desired to get her. In our country too, traditionally son is preferred. I dunno what is wrong with me then. We preferred to have baby girl. We like our daughter before she joined with us.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are obviously a very good man. God saw fit to give you a daughter first. Maybe to teach others that it doesn't matter who comes first a girl or a boy. God is no respecter of persons as God loves everyone equally. It is totally ridiculous to think God would prefer a boy over a girl. That just doesn't line up with God's teaching or God's character. I am sure it saddens God to see people act and do the things they do to children that he loves. You are a good man and I am sure God will bless you.

If I could only have one child and was allowed to chose the gender I would have a girl. I had my first son thirteen years ago and my second son one year ago. I would dearly love to have girl because I have always wanted to have one. Pregnancy is an amazing experience and every lady wishes to have a healthy baby. In my home country most people are equally happy to have a boy or a girl. Those with two or three boys often choose to have one more pregnancy to see if they can have a girl.

See we are come from the same country which most people like son. I like girl, I can make it as a small princess. Actually whether a boy or a daughter doesn't make many difference to me, although I like daughter. And that is the traditional mind, in the past times, son can work for government, but daughter just stay at home, earning little. So they don't like daughter, as time goes, woman are out to work. Maybe sometimes still in a inferior situation, but still good than before. I think most people will not care this any more.

I always wanted 4 sons , so far I am blessed with one, so three to go? I do not think so anymore , I really love boys , for one thing they are very loving, I cannot imagine life without my son. If I have a girl I will be happy but I thing I much rather have a boy as my son was praying recently to have a baby brother so he can teach him to fight???????

I think all the world is the same traditional mind that son is the best.I don't matter that, now it's a age of equality between the sexes, less people matter boy or girl,it will be ok that the kid is own mine.

I don't really mind either way. As a mother, I don't really care if my child is a boy or a girl, I would still love him or her just the same.

I didn't mind, but I was convinced the first one would be a boy! She was actually a girl - and two more girls followed! By the time we were having our fourth, I was so sure it would also be a girl I'd picked out a name for her - but she turned out to be a boy and I remember telling the doctor he must be mistaken, because I only ever had girls ... I must say though, I got really sick of people asking whether we were trying for a boy after we'd had the three girls, and many people also said if we had a boy it would be 'good for my husband'. My husband adores all his daughters, and is actually much closer to them than he is to our son - so those stupid assumptions are pretty annoying.

Hello ifglan, I would personally prefer a daughter as I like cute little girls. they are so cute and usually daughters help around the house and usually are more obedient than sons. I agree that in many country they prefer to have boys as boys will one day become leaders.
