Driving lessons, tests and buying your first car...

Was wondering how long it took everyone to do their driving lessons and whether they passed their driving test at the first attempt. Did you buy your car straight afterwards or was it a present from your parents? Did you buy new or second hand?
I started doing my driving lessons last year in December and I have had two driving instructors. The first one was great but he went on holiday and then didn't come back. The second one was an utter pain and did not really build my confidence and I stopped mainly due to my financial budget and then sickness but I would have changed instructors anyway as I think he was no good(:
I am looking at starting my lessons again and can't wait to start driving due to the freedom and flexibility that would give me. With rising costs of fuel, it would not be the best time to start but when I think of all the time it would save me waiting at the bus stop..will be well worth it!
What was your experience as to how you started driving?

i passed the driving test on the first try but the written test that we had to take before it i had to take it twice.because when i studied the drivers handbook the information that i focused on was nowhere on the test, and then when i went home and studied the other information when i went to retak the test again it was a completely different test but luckily i had studied enough info to be able to pass. i actually already ha a car and had been driving without a license for about a year.

I had to take the written test twice too as I was one right answer away from passing! Funny how I'd thought it would be the hazzard perception that would fail me and it didn't.
I was so gutted but did it again shortly after and passed.
Yet to do the practical but heard it's quite hard so not looking forward to it..
As for your driving without a license for a year! very naughty..!

When I went to take my driving test to get my license the written test was easy and I passed it on my first try,but the actually driving part I had to take twice,because the one who gave me the test was a jerk and he failed me for going like a mile over the speed limit,which pissed me off and I was tempted to throw his butt out of the car,but I went back and passed the next day,and my first car I bought from my grandpa for five dollars,because he did not want to give it to me,and he wanted me to be able to say I bought it.

I took my test and passed it three times with flying colors, I've had it suspended a few times. I have always had a car it was a hand me down 95 Dodge Caravan, I took my test in it but I have become a professional at the cones. I don't know where you live but in Ohio we just had to go to driving school and they did the in cars also.

my father is a driver,when i was yong,my father used to taking me with him, and i liked this,so i began to like driving .When i was in middle school,my father started to teach me how to drive,at that time my father didn`t teach me so much one time,just a litter,so it took me a long time to learn driving.
now i can drive car on the road safetily,but i have no driving licence,i know this is illegal,so i want to take a driving test.
