Do you ever get those 'Mum was right!' moments...?

When I was growing up, my mum used to advise me about a lot of things and still does. I must admit I never took most of her advise to heart then as a teenager as mum went through a tough time raising us on her own and I felt this made her quite pessimistic about quite a lot of things..
Now being a mum myself and growing up, I do get a lot of moments that I realise 'Mum was right' or actually that's what she meant..! I do enjoy telling her that I agree with those points now and the best moments are when I talk to her about raising my child on my own now and she understands only too well what I am talking about and can share her experiences with me and this has strengthened the bond we have.
What about you? Have you had similar moments in your life when you agree with what your parents told you as it makes so much sense after you have been through it or had to deal with a similar situation? Do you find that you connect better with your parents now being a parent yourself?

Yes all the time. I find myself also doing the same things my mother did and said.

Now that I have a daughter I see myself thinking mom was right. I remember when she would say you won't understand until you have your own and boy was she right! I have a friend who is a little younger and still lives at home with her mom and her mom still has rules that she doesn't understand why. I actually used the words - you won't understand until you have your own! I laughed and said to her ... I never thought I would say that but it really is true!
