Making some pocket money while studying abroad?

This is for you students who have been or are planning to go abroad at some point during your studies, either undergraduate or graduate (or non-degree, for that matter).
This September I will be studying abroad in Japan. I'll be there until February, and since I'm going to be living in Tokyo during this time, I'm going to need every extra dollar I can find. I've been trying to come up with some ways to get a bit of cash on the side without having to worry about a work visa.
I'm considering doing some freelance work for websites (writing, mostly) if I can, though I've heard that tutoring overseas can work out pretty nicely as well.
Does anybody have any other suggestions for this? I'm not looking for heaps of cash; if I could make even an extra $25 or more a week while I'm overseas, that'd be greatly helpful in ensuring I could eat a little more than ramen every day.
I'm also accepting ideas for other countries, as well, since I'm planning to live/study in other countries in Asia... and in Europe eventually, too.

I'm still looking for some ideas on what to do, other than post on myLot once in a while. I'm going to be busy, so I'll need something relatively simple, but any bit of extra cash flow will help!
