Anyone been to Madeira??

I'm going on holiday to Madeira this year and from what I've heard it's quite a quiet place. Has anyone ever been?? Is there anything over there you would recommend seeing/doing?? Please respond - thanks!

i've never been there, but i got some information from it's official tour website, you can go sailing, fishing, whale and dolphin spotting, water skiing, surfing, diving and of course swimming. sea temperatures vary between 18-24 c dpending on the time of year.
