How to hear the voice of God?

Hi leofa, If you truly 'yearn' for direction in your life and want to know God's will, if you truly want to 'hear' his voice, then all you have to do is ask. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all (these) things will be added unto you". I think you must learn how to make Him first in everything you do. He speaks to us in many ways and directs our path - if we let Him. We have to be able to recognize when He speaks to us, then, act upon it through faith. If this is your true desire, He will lead you. All we have to do is follow. Through study of His word, your desire to hear Him, and a sincere fellowship with Him, He will send His Holy Spirit to teach you and give you wisdom and knowledge. It's not a popular choice and it's not necessarily easy, but if you are willing, so is He.

Since we have been given the right to become His children through believing Him. God wants you to read and obey His word, live a holy life, get rid of evil council, meditate on His word .

Hi, I think that it is more a feeling of knowing what to do. Keep praying and He will show you the way. Problem is , we people are to much in a hurry. God has patience. When we pray we want out answer right away. But, I am afraid, this is not how it works. The voice of God is in you, just keep on praying. Or just sit down in a dark room and pray or say nothing. The best way is for you to meditate on His Word... the Bible! This will help you know what He desires to impart unto you. It is not possible to hear Him audibly as an ordinary person does but through the help of the Holy Spirit, He will speak to you through His Word. Just please cultivate quietness with Him alone. It is God's promise that if you will be quiet you will know Him (Ps. 46:10).This does not just mean external noise but also refraining from frantic thoughts and pursuits but full concentration of your heart, mind and spirit while communicating with Him in prayers and meditation.

if you are thinking on direct voice that you will hear from God, like those with moses and others, that cant be done now it started when the israelites ask for a king for thier nation so God only speaks to prophet after that, and time comes that His voice cant be heard directly even by the prophets.. inour time the voice of God is clearly written in the form of the bible,.it speaks and triggered someone heart if only we ask...pray before you read your bible and be amazed how loud it will sound that your soul, your heart and your being will hear it aloud.. the above suggestions are truly... we must admit before the Lord that we're nothing and thus we need Him...we must come to Him in humility... the voice of the Lord is a still small voice so we have to quieted our hearts and just wait and listen attentively to Him....yearn to Him...
