we all love to have a break! but will u realy enjoy if u have just enough money at hand? so when my friends and i reached the amount we needed for the planned vacation we hurried to the bus stop and when we got our seats we waited for the bus conductor to close the door. our destination: bantayan island. it is a tropical paradise in Asia dubbed as island paradise in the Philippines. it is located in the northern part of cebu. well, so much for the map talk. when the bus was about to leave, it was only then we realized that we lack one. as we counted off, we're only 5! we're supposed to be 7 people! so i texted my friend to hurry who was still at the taxi that time. sadly, he never made it to our bus. so there, he rode on the other one. it took us 4 hours to get to san remegio and then from there we rode on a barge heading for bantayan island at sta. fe and took us another 1 and half hour. to cut it short we became complete after waiting for the latecomer and meeting the other one who's a resident at san remegio. when we reached the island i looked at the faces of my friends and hey all of them were smiling you that ear to ear smile lol. two of the main attraction of the island are the crystal-clear waters and powdery sand. such peaceful scenery. after spending lots of hours reading our books and listening to our profs we all badly needed a break! we looked for a place to stay. and it was really confusing because every resort that we went offers great amenities BUT our budget reminds us to face reality. our money wasn't that much so we decided to go to a cheaper resort. so we went to sugar beach resort and it wasn't that bad at all! after putting our stuffs at our closets we changed our outfits and hit the water. it was so fun.. when we got tired of swimming our stomach demanded for food. so there we bought fish and had it cooked. it was the most sumptuous meal i had! that afternoon, we decided to go island hopping. unfortunately i didn't know yet how to swim that time. i was really really scared seeing those big corals and fish. but anyway i had my lifejacket on. the next day we walked (to save money) at the shoreline to go to a cave and it was really really awesome. actually the cave was at the other resort and it was an expensive one. so what we did we just like visit the resort and paid the entrance fee which is 100pesos and it's good until 6pm only. we took our chance, we swim there and took pictures. at 6 pm we went back to sugar beach, same route but this time the tide is high so the water was like at the level of our waist but it didnt matter as long as we can save money. the next day was our time to pack up things and leave the island. suprisingly we still have money left so we bought native delicacies for our lovedones! we really thought we would never enjoy a vacation with just enough money on hand but we were wrong. it's just a matter of budgeting and planning and also it's a plus factor to have buddies who you can really enjoy being with through whatever things.

Wow! What a great story! The Phillipines sounds like such a bautiful place. We are getting hit pretty hard here with the rise in gas prices and had to do some cutting back as far and going on vacation. My sister found a great deal and will be flying my kids out to California to go to a theme park for the weekend. The rest of the family will be heading to an indoor water park and some relax time. Budgeting is a very important aspect of vacationing!
