How can something that has no taste, taste so good?

I'm talking about water. Ice cold water on a hot summer's day or after a hard exercise session. With ice clinking around in the glass. Condensation dripping down the side. Can you picture it? Do you "taste" it? Yes! You "taste" tasteless! Water truly is an amazing thing, isn't it?

yes, i completely agree with you, water, the most basic element of the water, required by each and every human, is full of diverse properties. water, is something , which is irreplacable , satisfies us to the fulllest. whenever, we are thirsty, we dont want any fruit drink, or aerated drink or any other thing its needs only one thing, WATER and only water

You are so right! Everything alive needs water to stay alive! Plants don't drink coffee or tea, they drink water! We should all emulate nature; it seems to know how to take care of itself!
I've been outside gardening in the heat and come inside all hot and sweaty and grab a Coke or glass of tea, but it just doesn't satisfy me. I HAVE TO get a glass of water before I can feel good!
Great answer. Thanks!
Oh, and Welcome to myLot! I hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us! Don't be alarmed if you get "hooked" by it! LOL

Oh yes! I know how it feels. Nothing beats the taste of ice-cold water surging through my body after a looooong and rough work or game. When we play basketball, I usually could even finish a whole pitcher of water after the game. Hehe. It has no taste but it taste's so good... wahaha. Probably because a huge % of our body is made up of water so it needs a lot of it. It is really amazing.

Yep! When you're so hot and sweaty and you need something FAST to cool you down... that ice-cold water is the best! I actually get a kick out of feeling it going down into my tummy. It makes me shiver, but that's all part of the wonderful things about water!

Good, ice cold water is the best. I have a water pitcher that I filter my water from because our water has so many chemicals in it. I sometimes buy bottled water and I can tell the difference between cheap water and expensive water like Aquafina, Kenwood, or Ozark. Even though water is basically tasteless, I can tell good from bad. When I'm really thirsty, water is the only thing that really quenches my thirst. What kind of water do you prefer?

We get our water from a well that goes through a water softener. That is a salt-filtering system, so the water tastes a bit salty. I use a Brita water filter (pitcher) and keep some in the fridge always to grab some nice, cold water when I'm thirsty.
There's nothing like drinking ice cold water after coming in from gardening! The only trouble with that is that I sometimes drink it too fast and get "brain freeze"! Ooh, man! That smarts!

Well, we kinda need it to stay healthy! I'm not normally a water-drinker. I don't always have water nearby. I'm a Coke fan myself.
It's only when I'm hot and sweaty from being outside gardening or tackling an especially hard job in the house like scrubbing the floors or something like that that I really crave a glass of ice-cold water. Plain water is plain water. I find it boring. But pull it out of the refrigerator, or put some ice cubes in it, and it makes it the most wonderful drink in the world... to me, at least.
There are things you can buy that are made especially for flavoring bottled water, and I've used them as well. But, when I want water, I want the plain, no flavor added kind... it just has to be ice cold!
Take care!

Yep! It really is a strange phenomena... the tastiest tasteless thing in the world!
I am like you; I need water when it's hot because my throat gets so dry and sore, too.
Also, it has no vitamins but it is so very good for you! We couldn't live without it.

There are things that you can add to water to make it tastier; things especially made for putting into bottled water to flavor them. I've even seen things to make ice "cubes" that will fit right down into a bottle of water!
Normally, I don't head for a glass of water, but after I've been outside gardening in the heat, or doing anything like that, nothing really satisfies or makes me feel as good as some ice cold water.
Take care!

Water is part of life. It is part of us and essential to all that is living. If we really look at nature and how it works, we should be able to see how we should live as well.

mentalwardyes it does indeed taste so good on a hot summer
day when you are dying of thirst. I can readily picture a
tall frosty glass of ice and water just waiting for me
to drink it. it is truly one amazing substance for sure.
