Hey do you remember reading Tiger Beat when you were a young teen/'tween'?
I heard on the radio that the announcer was talking about it and her 12 year old daughter reading it - the Jonas brothers, the boys from Zack and Cody are cool right now.
She mentioned that when she was 12 (in 1977) and reading Tiger Beat, Shawn Cassidy and Parker Stevenson were gracing the pages...as for me; it was Elton John and the Bay City Rollers (does anyone remember them???) and it was around 1975 (ish) lol!
Do you remember reading this publication? who was hot when you were reading it???

I loved that magazine when I was a kid. I also loved Sweet 16 and a few of the others. I think all except Tiger Beat are history now but Tiger Beat has been around for years. Hanson, The Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Jonathan Taylor Thomas (or JTT as we referred to him) were all popular. A few of the other popluar ones were Spice Girls, No Doubt and the kids from Dawsons Creek, not to mention Sarah Michelle Geller from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Gosh I miss those days. I used to go to the store every few weeks and buy a magazine or two.

Oh yea!! I remember those magazines you are talking about. I'm thinking a few of the magazines I used to get are still around, but I think you are right, I don't think all of them are still around. It sounds like we were getting these magazines around the same time, because several of those you mentioned helped to plaster my wall once upon a time.

I'm only 21 and looking at your post below, you're only a few years older than me so we pretty much saw the same people in the magazines. I remember Devin Sawa too. I was crazy for him for quite awhile.

Oh yea! I definitely remember Tiger Beat. Actually, I'm 25, and it's only been a few years since I've bought a teen mag like that. Because for several years some of my favorite bands were in them, but lately not so much. hehe I admit, I still look at them in the store from time to time.
Anyway, when I was younger it was Devon Sawa, Jonathan Jackson, Brad Renfro, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, etc.. I was especially crazy about the first 3! And most of my friends were really into JTT. LOL Oh, and for music I think the major one was Hanson! :)
Funny thing is, I really haven't changed much since I was a young teen/teen.

S A TUR DAY NIGHT! Yup, I remember the Bay City Rollers. Back in my day it was Davy Jones and the rest of the Monkees that kept me in Tiger Beat and all the other good fan magazines. Also David Cassidy. Now for me it's YouTube and HEY--Davy Jones is still adorable!!!

Tiger Beat made great wallpaper. I'm sure gazillions of parents had to paint over tape residue left on their walls after posters of Joey McIntyre paneled it. Sigh...how one's tastes change over the years though. These days, I'd probably want my centerfolds to be Sean Connery or Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Hehe.

OMG, do I remember Tiger Beat, are you kidding me.
My sister and I lived for that magazine.
My favorite was Donny Osmond. It's funny how during that time in your life, that cute guy becomes your whole world. Our rooms were plastered with pictures.
I know his favorite color was purple.
One day my dad came home with a used dresser and let my sister and I decide what color to paint it.
I made my sister go along with me and use the color purple (hey, wasn't that a movie too. lol).
If Donny wasn't available to look at, I'd look at Leif Garrett and a couple of others.
My sis loved Andy Gibbs and shawn cassidy.
Who couldn't relate to those love songs?
Remember "Go away little girl"?
I sure know how to pick 'em because Donny is still alive and looking good!
