I've never heard of BIOS having a password...this is odd. Are you sure it's not your password to your user account?

yeah short the jumpers or remove battery to reset.... You'll need to leave the batter out for a few seconds to ensure a discharge. Oh yeah and of course unplug first! But do not be scared - it is easy to do... Shame on all those who told you you were messed up!

well generally it will work will all kind of motherboards you see. i think you can do this without any problem. just remembet that you have to configue you system time again. just open the computer case. find a button type battery on the motherboard. this is where all the power is stored for the bois to remember the data when you have switched off your computer. removed the battery and then start the computer, it will start and all the bios settings will be reset and then you can again place it on th same place and then start again and go to the bios setting and set a new password. let me know it this worked for you or not. i know it will work, as it worked for me

You poor thing. Depending on your motherboard, you may be screwed. Probably you are going to need to seek the help of a professional (at the very least, the tech support for your motherboard).

If you have opened your pc and/or have experience in handling pc hardware, on most motherboards, it is quite easy. Have your manual ready. Open your pc (don't forget to touch something metallic aside from your pc to remove static) and locate the CMOS reset jumper. It will simply reset your CMOS settings back to default and your password will be cleared. You can now setup your bios again. Hope this helps.

you can put out the cmos buttery, and the password is none.

What is bios? I would suggest going on there website and seeing how you can reset the password....that would be my best answer for you.

hi say2kuna... well i think all u need is unplugged battery on ur mainboard n start running ur pc without a battery on it then u have to turn back off ur computer n plug a battery back to ur mainboard then turn back on ur pc.i guess thats will help
