I was told years and years ago i forget who told me this but they told me that when its time for me to get a car not to get something in the color red because cops pay more attention to the color red then they do any other color. I guess it has to do with red meaning its fast or something. I dont know but i was wondering if anyone else has heard that before and if you have is it true?

I think I have heard that before even though I do not know if it is true or not,and I have also heard that vehicles that are red tend to have more accidents then vehicles of any other color, and that if you have vehicles that are red you insurance will be higher, but I do not know if they are true or not.

I was glad to mention it,and that sucks if those things are true, because I have seen that a lot of people like red vehicles,my parents, for example, own all red vehicles, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.

I haven't heard this about cops, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. The color red can be easier to see and eye catching for anyone.
I have read articles with data from reports that show that cars which are the color red have been in more traffic accidents. And it also stated that they are more expensive to insure because of this. It doesn't seem logical to me.
If I had to give my opinion on this study, I would suggest it is because more sports cars are sold in the color of red. Sports cars go faster, and are more likely to be in an accident. That would be the only logical reasoning behind either theory.

That is not true whatsoever. Cops are not attracted to red vehicles or think that they are fast just by the color. It's the dummy behind the wheel that attracts the cop. If you act like an idiot behind the wheel you are bound to get pulled over. It really doesn't matter if its red, blue or black. However with red cars it does throw some people off. Say for instance you are parallel parking and there is a red car behind you it will throw the person right off completely. This hasn't happened with me but there are people out there that just can't stand red cars for that reason.

It was probably Amanda's father who told you that, lol! I don't know whether red cars attract the attention of more cops but I do know that dark colored cars are more easily overlooked by people and are involved in more accidents than brighter colored cars. The insurance adjuster told me that after I was broadsided in the blue Cadillac.

Well if cops are like bulls No just kidding. In general red really attracts a lot of things because it easily stands out easily both in day and night time. Chances are if you look in a crowd, you'll notice first the people who are wearing red. Also if you look at nature a lot of actually use that color to attract mate. (e.g. baboons, some birds, flowers) So I think that if you want the cops attention to be diverted from your car try toning down the red shade of your car.

I own a red car and have never gotten pulled over it it. I have read that the color of your car does effect your insurance rates and that a red car has a higher rate, not sure if it is true.

I have not heard that exactly. I did hear, years ago, that that your insurance on your vehicle is slightly higher if the color of the vehicle is red. Something about statistics stating that red cars have a higher accident ratio?? Not sure sure exactly how it went now. But I do not recall ever hearing anything about cops. :)
