The 4th of July is an American holiday. It is also known as Independence Day. The history behind this day is that our American forefathers signed a Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. This was the document that expressed the American colonials desire to become and independent country from Britain. So, this day has been held as the American day of Independence since then.

Yup, July 4th is a big national holiday in America. It's the day we became an independent nation, so we call it Independence Day, though most Americans just call it "The Fourth Of July".

July 4th, 1776 was the day that the United States of America gained it's independence from Britain. Therefore, we celebrate every year.
Some people prefer to call it "The 4th of July", and others maintain "Independence Day". I think it is easier when we are young to say 4th of July, so we maintain that.
Although, we do know that the day is our "Independence Day". Most other countries have similar holidays of their own. The one in the United States, just happens to be on July 4th. I think it is May 5th in Mexico, hence, Sinco De Mayo.
Hope this information was a bit helpful for you. And good day to you!

Yes, it is America's Independance Day. I don't know whether any other countries have a holiday on this date or not.
