What is too far to start a relationship

I met my fiance online via MSN chat rooms and we lived 3000 miles away from each other. I think it really depends on the people involved. There is a large amount of trust that has to go into a long distance relationship because there is no way to keep tabs on someone 24 hours a day. Before I met my fiance, I was considering meeting someone who was 9000 miles away from me, in a different country. Things didn't work out though, and the meeting never took place.
