I would post notices all around my neighbourhood that there was a prowler on the loose. That way, I'd feel safer because a lot of people would be looking out for him, and I'm sure he would be deterred from any further lurking in the shadows. It would be like a kind of neighbourhood watch. Make sure as many people know as you can reach, and if he comes back, he's sure to be confronted by somebody.
Brightest Blessings.

Oh my goodness how awful, but maybe it was a lucky thing you woke up at that time and screamed as it did scare him away. Do you have gate type things on your windows? A lot of people in my area have added gate type things installed on their windows to deter break-ins. I'm in a sense lucky that I live in an apt building on the second floor and in front...but many of my neighbors who live in the back apts have been broken into and now they all have gates on their windows. Hope they catch the prowler

I don't really have to worry about that since I have a dog that would scare any would-be prowlers away before they could get too close to our house. Most anyone that lives around here knows this, so unless it was someone from another area that didn't and was stupid enough she would have them on the run.

Oh my gosh! I am not surprised that you were in shock. A similar incident happened to me a few years ago when I was living on my own in a rented appartment. I decided to sleep in my sons room one night because it was warmer and he spent the night in my brothers. I was woken up by a flashlight shining in through the window!!Needless to say I didnt renew my lease. I moved out as soon as I could!!! I am sure that your prowler wont return. He will know that he will be watched out for..... :-)
