Happy 4th USA - What plans does everyone have?

I'm sure out there in myLot land someone has already beaten me to this topic. But, I wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July. What great plans does everyone have today? Will it be a back yard BBQ with friends and family? Will you go to an outdoor concert followed by fireworks like many cities do? Here it seems our outdoor activities will be rained out. We are getting alot of rain today. I'd planned to go watch the fireworks over the bay, but it may be too rainy to do so. But thats ok, we really need the rain here. I hope all of you in our great USA have a fun day!

We spent our day together, ordered
pizza, watched neighborhood fireworks,
hung out and had a good old time.
Nothing much more.
We live so close to the beach
we could have been there in less
than thirty minutes.
But locals don't go to the beach
on such a big day cause of the crush
of tourists.
It's just not worth having to deal
with all the obnoxious tourists
and their "we own it all" attitude.
We just sit quietly in our abodes
and wait for them to slink back
to their homes elsewhere
and then come out and party!
We get the beaches over 300 days
of the year, so I figure that we have
the better deal!

LOL You sure we don't live on the same beach? We locals here feel the same way. I saw on the news that our beach was so crowded and of course was covered with trash from the outsiders afterwards. Winter time our town fills to more than double its capacity and those of us who live here just can't wait for spring. LOL

I am not sure what we will do. My husband was called out to go work but it shouldn't take all day, hopefully. We had planned to maybe bbq, the much needed rain we are getting should not hamper that since our patio is covered. The fireworks show that our city has each year might get to happen since the chance of rain will be lower tonight. I just hope the weather dries up in New York since that is where my daughter, grandson and son in law are at to watch the Macy's Firework show while on vacation.
Our city has a lot of activities planned for today but as of this morning they were still going on even with the rain.
Happy 4th to you too and to all that are in the USofA. Be safe no matter what your plans are.

My partner is also working, but he should be off by 3. I'm sure it will be a quiet night here, but I don't mind those much. Have fun with your day. :)

Well, My friend was supposed to be here by now to go to the beach with me and the kids, but apparently she isn't coming, so my plan is to load them up and take them myself. Later on, fireworks at the river! Beautiful clear blue skies here in Maine! Have a happy 4th!
