9 cups of coffee per day is definitely not healthy. We all know that has caffeine and too much of that stuff speeds up your heart rate and can cause irritability, etc. Hopefully you dont experience those symptoms especially if you work because its not good on the job. Too much of anything can be bad. Even water is bad for you if you drink too much of it in one sitting. You just have to use it moderately.

Too much caffeine can also cause you to lose calcium in the body. As we all know, calcium is necessary for bone and teeth health. So by drinking too much coffe, you are not only discoloring your teeth, but also weakening them in the process. Also, do you use artificial sweeeteners in your coffee? Some studies have shown that artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame and saccharin, could be linked to an increased risk of tumors and cancer. I love me coffee in the morning too, but nine cups a day is a bit excessive. Try getting more sleep.

That might be a little excessive. I think coffee is good in moderation. It has alot of anti oxidants in it so it probbly is really good for you in alot of ways. I would think you would be jittery with so much caffeine in your system. I think I would be. Plus I would not be able to sleep at night.

There's a saying, "Everything in moderation". I think that 9 cups of coffee is a lot and all of that caffine may be harmful to your health in the long run as it can raise your blood pressure and increase your heart rate. Do you like Decaf coffee? Maybe you should try making a couple of those decaffinated.

I can certainly relate to this topic. I drink alot of coffee as well but that is because I really enjoy the taste of it. I have found a Maxwell House coffee that is actually 1/2 and 1/2 so I have been drinking that more and it doesn't make it seem as though I am drinking as much as I was. Alot of people will say that it can affect your health in the long run. Within the last 2 years I have been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia which causes severe migraine headaches. Before this diagnosis, the doctors were tested me for everything. One of the main things they told me was to cut my caffeine intake in half so as not to trigger a migraine. But in the long run it turned out that nothing I ate or drank actually contributed to my migraines. But make sure you are very careful when it comes to caffeine, it could do some damage to your health. Good luck with everything.

Since childhood, we at tropical region of India, used to drink lot of coffee. It has become a habbit for us to start the day with black coffee in one hand and newspaper in another. So, me too was addicted. Now trying hard to get out of it. Thanks for the advise.

That much coffee probably is bad for you, yes. Caffeine is thought to have a good many ill effects on your overall health, not to mention guess what? You probably ARE addicted to coffee! Which means when you stop drinking it, you're going to feel pretty cranky. But again, it'd be a good idea to cut back on so much coffee. Switch to decaf, or black tea perhaps.

Good gracious! And I thought I used to be bad..lol! On top of drinking a lot of coffee, I used to add about 2 or 3 Mountain Dew sodas a day.
I cut way down after going for a physical and my doctor told me how bad it was and insisted that I cut down. It was very hard for me because coffee is my favorite thing to drink but I did it, and started drinking more juice, water, milk and tea.
Now I try to stick to 1 cup, sometimes 2 on rougher days but that's it. Maybe decaffinated will help where you'll still get the flavor, and there's a natural coffee like beverage called Postum, but it's hard to find here now.

nine coffee on average a day? that is way too much caffeine. it's very taxing on both your liver and kidney. your liver will be working overtime to remove the caffeine from your blood. your kidney will then work exceptionally hard to pass the caffeine out from your body. it's worst if you don't drink enough water. you must try to cut down slowly. maybe from nine to eight for a month. the ideal should be a maximum of two coffee a day. good luck ;p

OMG !! That's too many !!!
me, my normal would be only one mug a day during breakfast..
There are times, where I wanna have coffee in the afternoon too..
But, that's as far as I can drink coffee...
One night, i was working online and really needed coffee to perk me up, so I had my third that same day...What happened was I had a little hard time peeing and I feel some irritation and I had some minor cramps. The next day, it got worst, so I went to the doctor to have a check up.. I am diabetic, so, a little discomfort makes me wanna see a doctor. Just to have peace of mind that it's nothing..
So, i had my urine checked and found out that I have UTI or a urinary tract infection. That's what gets me for drinking so much coffee in one day!!
Some people wouldn't even know that they already have some problems for drinking coffee too much and later on finds out that they have already somehow damaged their kidney.
Though some research says that coffee is good for the body because it detoxifies the body, but too much detoxification would hurt some organs too.
try and ask your doctor so you could have the experts tell you that drinking 9 cups really does a harmful effect on your body...
i really do hope that you would somehow lessen it gradually...just a suggestion..

Hi
Drinking too much coffee is not good for health. But it is safe for a moderate drinker. Studies shows thatrisk for type 2 diabetes is lower among regular coffee drinkers than among those who don't drink it.Coffee may reduce the risk of developing gallstones, discourage the development of colon cancer, improve cognitive function, reduce the risk of liver damage in people at high risk for liver disease, and reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease.
But too much of anything is harmfull. Drinking too much coffee increase the PMS symptoms, anxiety, discomfort in stomach etc. It also cause sleep problems. Drinking too much of coffee may cause still birth. It is also not good for hypertension.
Drinking coffee moderately is good for health. Never drink more than four cups of coffee per day. Drinking two cups of coffee daily is advisable for a healthy person.

woot too much caffeine is bad. General rule is "Anything that is excess or is taken more than what is normal is abusive". Yes, caffeine has good contributions to our health however having too much will already be harmful to our body. well, my hubby use to drink 6 cups of coffee a day, then one day he started to have back pains which he didn't have since birth... it doesn't go away.. Then maybe he says it might be the coffee.. so he reduce his coffee intake slowly untill he is just taking 2 cups coffee a day and has no back pains since then.

You know, it seems that there is different research that is going on all of the time about the health and safety of coffee drinking. Who knows? It could be harmful if you go overboard with it. After all, it does contain a lot of caffeine. I did hear that it could be stimulating to your brain, which sounds like a good thing.
You can get addicted to it easily. I am a true example of it among many other people in this society. I think that just like everything else, some things that we eat and drink are better in moderation.

You mean 9 cup of coffees per day? I think that is a bit too much.
Personally, I am a coffee lover! I drink 2 cups of coffee usually. But due to pregnancy, I reduce to a cup per day.
Whether coffee is harmful or not, I do not think so. So far, what I got from coffee is just the yellowish of my teeth. However, I will go for dentist every half a year.
