My lips are getting darker because of smoking. How do I get it red back?

Hey guys, I have been smoking compulsively and impulsively for the past 4 years and I noticed that my lips are getting darker like other smokers. I asked people around me about it and all of them say it is normal for smokers to get that but no one have any idea how to reverse it. Is it permanent? I wish my lips are not as black as it is now. Do you guys know how?

it's really hard to quit smoking. I know lots of people who's finding a hard time on how to quit smoking. anyway, you should always exfoliate your lips twice a week.how? after brushing your teeth, also brush your lips, not to hard. (the brush should be wet first.), then put lip balm on it. and before you sleep, always put lip balm, or petroleum jelly on your lips to moisturize and not to get dry. it will really lessen the darkness of your lips. although I am not smoking, I always do that not to have a dry, dark, choppy lips. but of course, quitting from smoking will really help a lot.

I really don't know what to tell you...you really should try to stop smoking. Not trying to lecture you but if you smoke that much then honestly your lips being discolored is probably the least of your worries.

Hey dopey22girl, it's funny that when you say my lips being discolored is the least of my worries but it is my highest motivation to quit smoking as I really am fond of youth. All those warnings of lung cancer and greater hazards of smoking has never caused me to slow down on smoking.:D

How to turn your blackened lips to red lips? Just put on a red lipstick, lol. Other than that, just quit smoking, it will do you further harm other than the blackened lips.

Hey joyce 959, I was going to write 'how to get it back to normal again?' but there's not enough space to write that so I sort of shortened the phrase. LOL.:D

You'd better to quite smoking. If you do not want, try to use olive oil, that's good stuff.
