A lot of people are feeling the effects on continous increase in oil prices specially here in the Philippines. As a homemaker, I feel the effects because my original budget of Php 1,000 pesos for meat products which is good for one week has now significantly increase to almost PhP 2,000 pesos per week and we are only 3 people in our house. Regular groceries from Ph1,500 is now up to Ph 2,500 and its only for one week. I think a lot of us is asking the same question "when will it end?" What is our government doing? Even in the United States there is already a threat that a lot of people will continue to lose their jobs, if that is the case, what can filipinos look forward to in the coming future. How can we send our children to school if we can even feed them properly. I am not an economist so therefore I am not going to pretend that I understand the situation with our economy, I only speak from my heart as a homemaker who is feeling the brunt of the continous increase in oil. Therefore, I wish our scientists, inventors or whatever else we may call them to hurry up with their experiments or studies they are doing to replace our need for oil. I wish that our government focus on helping the common people instead of helping their own pockets, because sooner or later people will take the streets again because our current government has not done anything to help solve the cries of our nation. It has been one expose after the other and frankly the current government is sucking the life out of us people.

here in south africa we have it just as bad. real time unemployment stands at 75 percent. what you say is so true. our governent is corrupt and ignore the pleads for help from their own people. what irritates me is that there is a lot of things invented that doesnt need oil. like solar power, battery cars etc. but governments doesnt subsidise those technologies. they would rather use that money for themselves.

I agree. People in power should really be thought about honesty, empathy and work on trustworthiness.
