A vegetarian diet is always healthy and complete and a person who turns vegetarian is wise.
A vegetarian diet has various fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, etc. which will give you all the nutrients you need. There is nothing in meat that cannot be found in a vegetarians choices of variety of food which is the key to having all the nutrients you need. Like any diet if you are eating one type of food everyday, you are going to lack certain nutrients. but vegetarians follow the food pyramid, and beans, legumes, etc.are good in giving the same nutrients found in meat.
Meat can gives a hundred and one health problems so any person who finds it crazy to be vegetarian should rather think of how more crazy it is to indulge in meat with all the health troubles it brings.

From what I've studied unofficially it depends on the individual's body and how it processes protein. Some people process veggie protein effectively if legumes and grains are eaten in the proper proportions. Some people become listless on a vegetarian diet because they don't know how to regulate the things they eat and/or their bodies just process meat protein more easily.
I don't think vegetarians are at all crazy. On the whole, if a vegetarian or vegan diet serves you well and you are healthy, power to you. I do think people who aren't vegetarians eat waaaaay too much meat, thinking they're powering their metabolism, which is a misconception. The metabolism is revved with complex carbs.

Hi buddy let me tell you in terms of protiens, vitamins etc. The main problem with the vegetarians is that they lack in Protiens which is not there in their regualar diet so apart from that they are equally good as non-veg. But it is also important to note that protiens are the building blocks of life so we need stress on them too.
Generally protiens are not found in high amount in veg food apart from Dal there are hardly any protiens in other vegetables.
Good Luck.

I think that there are certain people who could live with vegetarian diet and some who couldn't. I mean people who are vegetarian should just be careful that they get all the nutrients that they need like protein which they get from beans. I see nothing wrong in being vegetarian.

I am a vegetarian and have been for a while now. A lot of people think that all we eat are vegetables. But that is entirely not true in the slightest. One thing we eat more than anything else is soy protein. Well I do anyway. I do eat veggies. I eat pastas and breads and grains and beans and nuts etc etc. I follow the food pyramid just like a meat eater but I have to add in more sources of protein. There are a ton of options now a days for vegetarians. And a lot of people don't understand the different kind of vegetarian diets there are. And the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian. But either way all vegetarian diets can be just as healthy as an average diet as long as you understand what you're doing. And understand that its not just a diet, its a lifestyle change. And another thing, when I quit eating meat, my cholesterol went down a great deal. And with all do respect. We're not crazy. Its our own choice and it isn't hurting anyone. Thanks for posting this.

well i don't see why vegetarians should be considered a little crazy. after all, it is the healthier way to eat. i wish i can become a vegetarian but i am just too weak. it's not easy to resist the temptation of meat. all of the nutrients need by the human body can be found in a vegetarian diet. can't say the same for a all-meat diet. there was a research that shows that the higher a person's IQ is, the more likely he/she is a vegetarian. go figure. cheers ;p
