Before replying to a discussion started by someone else. Or do you just post in your reply?

I read some of the replies just to rate them. but usually i can come up with my own answers so I just answer first. There are a few times I need ideas and then I read others comments and then decide can I come up with a answer or should I answer someone elses questions.

I do not read others replies but just post in my response. I may read others response after posting my own.

Let me ask you a question before that. Have you responded to a topic that has already got, say, 30+ responses? If so, then you'll admit that it simply isn't possible to go through all the responses and try to think of a response which will be diifferent from all of them. You'll be perhaps answering only 3-4 questions per day, then.

When I receive a notification for any new discussion started I just post my response. Its only after posting my response that I know how many other mylotters have also responded to that discussion. I never check it before.

hi mayka, it depends on the discussion. if it only get a few responses, i will spend time to read other responses before responding it, to avoid posting similar response. but if the discussion got many responses already, say 50 responses, i will just read some of them and post my response.

I would not want to read others replies for the simple reason that I would not like to be influenced by others responses. Thanks a lot for your response and happy posting.

Well! it would take hours to read all the replies to a discusion.... So what i do is i read two, three replies.. and then add my reply... Sometimes if a best response is already been selected, then i read that response also... Maybe i should read all the replies... but i cant...

I dont think its possible for us to read everyones responses. but then sometimes two people use the same words and that is surprising.

well i usually just reply to the discussion starter. i believe in voicing our own opinion. there is no harm voicing similar opinion with others right? there is also no reason why i wouldn't voice a different opinion from others. to me, mylot is about sharing our views on issues. what others responded will not have an impact on what i am going to post. maybe i'll see what others have posted when i've posted mine. at least i know my answer is not influenced by anyone. ;p

When you voice your own opinion it will either be same as someone else or different. I agree that this place is to share our views but we should post our own views. Thanks a lot for your reponse and happy posting.

if i have the idea on what i'm gonna say right away, i would just post so that i won't forget on what i'm gonna say then after that, i would read other people's responses on that discussion. but if i don't get what the discussion starter has asked then i would read all the replies first before i'm gonna answer it so that i would understand on what he's referring to his discussion

If there are more than 30 replies I just add my own in. If there's less then I'll skim over the posted ones. I feel this is more of a conversation with you than with the other people posting so unless we're all in a group and have taken turns I don't think its necessary to read everybody's response before posting my own.

If there are a lot of responses to the discussion I am responding too, then I will usually just read the first couple and then make my response, but if there is only a couple responses then,I will read them, especially if I do not completely understand the discussion I am responding too.

Yes,almost i do. I will read all the replies carefully, and comment to it,cause i think i should thank them all.But if there's so many replies in a short time ,and i have no free time to reply in detailed,i will also reply easily to thank them, maybe only one sentence like "thank you for your reply"...:)

No, i don't because i don't want my answer to be influenced by other answers. After answering i generally rate the answers on the same page as my answer and do glance at them then.
