Students that are age of 13-18,do you think they are suitable and good to do part time to earn extra money? If they do part time to earn money,it is good because they will not waste their time to do some usefulness things. If they do part time , maybe they do something that their parents did not know. What do you think? Is part time good are not good to student? Why?

I believe that any extra activities for the right student are good for character building. Whether that be working part time or maybe doing some sports activities. It all teaches independent thought, teamwork and schedualling etc. I was never one to work while I was in school but I found the need to study more to keep the grades up.

As long as it is a descent job and i know what kind of job it is i don't think theres something wrong with that.My daughter is 13.I asked her if she wants to do a summer job but she don't want so i didn't force her.I will respect her decision because i still think she is too young to work but it is also good to let her know the value of working while she is still young.

Yes, absolutely a little responsiblilty never hurt anyone. They should not lose site of the fact that there primary responsiblitly is to be a student however. Too many of them seem to do that.

I think it is good for teenagers to have a part time job because it teaches them responsibility, good work ethic and an appreciation for money (like it does not grow in the parents pockets...Ha). I agree with another post you had, that during the school year the hours worked should be modified so that the school work is not compromised.

My four children all worked at McDonald's when they were 16 so they could earn some money for their first cars. I think it was really good for them, and gave them responsibility and discipline. I think when they are doing their final year exams they should cut the work down and not do late nights. I think my daughter just did a few hours in the daytime on the weekends when she was in her last year of school.
