why we drink alcohol

We can see people drink alcohol or alcohol beverage everywhere and everytime. For instance, in the street, in bar, and on party or even on the funeral. So i am really curious about the meaning of drinking or why people is so fond of dringking? For me, alcohol is an excitant. For example, whenever i sit and chat with my friends, alcohol allows us to become more excited and more concerntrate on the talk, with which the atmosphere is great and we can talk everything we want. i think it`s wonderful.
