I'm eager to see this movie which is based on my favorite chicklit novel of the same title by Sophie Kinsella. I hope the movie will turn out as hilarious as the book or else a lot of fans will be disappointed. Many Shopaholic fans are already complaining why they chose an american actress (Isla Fisher) instead of a british one. By the way the book is written by a british author and the setting is in London that's why many people are expecting to hear a British accent in the movie. I too would like to hear British accent from the actors but the movie is an american production so what can we expect. I'll just give my judgment after I see the movie.

I had not heard that they were making a movie based on this book. I also loved the shopaholic series. I particularly liked the first novel in the series. It inspired me to read more books by Sophie Kinsella as well as to read more chicklit novels generally. When is this movie supposed to be coming out?

I have just seen the movie and it was great. I have not read the book so I have nothing to compare it to. It's a good thing though. That way I have no reason to be upset about anything.
That works for me because I want to take a movie at face value and not base it on the congruence of the two media.
I know the dismay fans get when books and movies don't match. So sorry for that.

I just borrowed this movie from my local library and watched it last night. I have never read the book although I have read others by Sophie Kinsella and they werent really anything I liked very much. Since this was rated pg I let my daughter watch it with me. I liked the movie it was sweet. On the cover it says "hilarious" and "A nonstop laughing spree but I did not find it that way. I think I had a good laugh maybe twice in the movie. It was a good movie but it really wasent anything I would consider a comedy.

Actually, Isla is from Australia. They made Becky an American and already living in New York for the movie. That's why people are upset.
According to Sophie, there are scenes taken right out of the book but a lot of changes as well. It would be nice if they had stuck to the book but as we all know, that doesn't always happen with the movie. I doubt they would make another one after this because it throws off the rest of the books and a lot more changes would have to be made. It should be interesting to see what the movie gives us. I'm eager to see it as well!

I loved this movie so much, one of my all time favourite movies.
Loved how Luke bought the green scarf thing from her so that she could pay off her debts and gives it back to her.
