I am so tired, but it was worth it...

Yesterday, I have been having second thoughts in going to my in-laws house because I don't want to see one of my sisters-in-law. It is my stepdaughter's birthday. I even had an argument with my husband about this. He wanted me to bring all my kids there. And because of the changing weather, I told my husband that if the rains won't stop, we will not go. But the weather went good, so I decided to go. I brought along my kids with me. When we arrived at my in-laws, we were welcomed with open arms. And then the celebration went on, I helped my mom-in-law with the cooking. Had a good conversation with my sis-in-laws. We even rented videoke and had a few shots of brandy while singing our hearts out. I know I made my stepdaughters' special day happy with our presence there. As if we haven't seen each other in ages. LOL. Then the time came when we had to go home and bid goodbye to all. We were so tired with the activities the whole day but it was worth it. I and my kids had so much fun being with them.
Have had this experience before of having second thoughts of seeing your in-laws and it turned that it was worth it? Please share your experiences. Have a great day. HUGZ!

I am glad that you made it with the kids, you made your stepdaughter's birthday a thing to cherish. And most of all, you finally made it good with your SIL...
With in-laws, me and my wife never had problems with both sides. What we can't understand are things with her BIL (my bilas-es). They are the ones gave most problems with the family here.

I'm glad that you did had fun with your in-laws. For me, the best times that I spent are with my in-laws, during reunions, parties. That I really miss now, for I am in the U.S. now. and it's been 5 years since I had a vacation there in the Philippines. I miss you my sis-in-law.

I think you should be thankful that your trip had pushed through and have a great and warm day with your in-laws. I think constant visitation to our in-laws will help us to bind a harmonious relationship with them and settle some of the old grudges that we have.
My situation is much worse than yours because I'm living with my in-laws. Though they are not here all the time (they have already migrated to the USA), they usually spend 2 months vacation with us every year. My secret is just to go along with them and not make any action that could create conflicts. I think it's a give and take relationship, I have married their daughter and they become a part of me from then on.

Hi tholitz. Thanks for sharing. I was really doubtful at first. My in-laws lived with me for 3 years, all house expenses are with me, in terms of the rent, food, electricity, water, etc. I just decided to move out and live here in our resthouse in Tagaytay when my husband went to work abroad. I constantly visited them but they haven't seen my kids for half a year. Well they surely missed my kids and all attentions are with them. LOL. We really had fun. HUGZ!

Sometimes the situation not as worst as expected. If you are willing to take the first step, the coming scenery will be good. But not always.
Hope that everyone around us also can have your experiencee, although have arguement, but with communications, everything become well again.
