You have to register with their site in order to bid, but without registering you can keep an eye on the bids for whatever you like. (Look but don't touch type of thing).

You have to be a member to do any bidding and buying and selling. Membership is free and easy to do. I am a seller and buyer. When I list items to sell I pay a fee to use ebay. When my item sells I am also charged a final value fee.

Hi,
Thank you, from what you have said,if ebay come to say somebody not registered with them bidded for my item,it is not right and either they are looking for excuses to help the bidder not to pay for my item or they don't want to pay insurance if the item is already delivered. Is that?

Ebay is saying that a non-member bid on your item? That is weird. I have been a seller for 6 years and have not had that problem (had others just nothing like that). I would fight it.

There is a guest program a buyer can use if he chooses not to become a member read more about the program here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/buying-as-guest.html

You have to have an account set up and sometimes the sellers require you to have a paypal account to pay with. It is free to start an account with ebay, but you do have to provide some information you might not want to give out.
