Watermelon is the talk of the town now. You might have read in the press that watermelon acts as potential viagra. Till recently watermelon was within reach of common man. Now that the news has apread, the demand for watermelon is on the rise as also the price.

Hope those buying watermelon for that effect enjoy eating the bitter rind. According to the news report that I heard, eating the sweet, juicy part that I love, will not have the desired effect.

You have correctly heard the report. The white portion, bitter rind, causes the effect. Thank you very much for your response.

I often eat watermelon because it helps cleanses the colon, helps fill you up and suppresses your appetite, it has vitamins especially vitamin B6 helps you lose weight, etc. This is the first time I heard about watermelon being the new viagra. I don't need viagra because I am female. My husband doesn't like watermelon, so no point of giving watermelon to him.

I swear I eat watermelon EVERY day (those 3.98 sales really help out where I stock up) and your right, it has been the biggest helper for my losing weight and I love watermelong SOO much that its not hard to make room for it. Suppresses your appetite doesnt seem like it serves this loving fruit justice--I have cut my eating down in half now that Im eating watermelon and definately keeping things moving in the gut, I think mixed with sweet potatoes and water in your diet (all seperately) anyone with constipation problems would be saved! I swear I almost feel an intelligence or spiritual energy from this fruit that I never felt before but now Im sounding weird so I'll stop but I do believe in fruit giving the body energy (which is not available in cooked foods).

I have never really liked watermelon. My husband never eats it. I just don't think it has any taste to it. It is mostly made of water. Funny how something that is mostly water can act like viagra.

I told my boyfriend about your story and he told me that peach skin also has the same effect and that is where they came up with Viagra but I have no idea about that but I guess these effects would be from eating it over time. Its funny because he went out and bought a box of them from BJ's (a wholesaler store) and said our daughter asked for them-lol

I am surprised and I 've never heard about it. I must tell my husband the news at once. We had one watermelon each day for the past few days. He would become excited when he get the news. But I am wondering what would happen for the women if we have a lot of it.
