Amanda and Mark have had a busy weekend!!

Since yesterday was the holiday and he had an extra off day Mark wanted to have more time with Amanda. So Thursday night he came to a town about 20 minutes from where we live and got a hotel room. He came to get her yesterday morning and they went to a museum and a couple of other places in a town about two hours from where we live. They then came back closer to home, ate supper and went to a few other places.
He spent the night last night at the same hotel and then came to get her this morning. They are spending the day in Mississippi today LOL!!Amanda wasn't quite ready this morning when he got here so I sat in the living room and talked with him while she finished. I just felt like opening my heart up to him and told him how much my husband and I appreciate how good he has been to her and how much of a blessing he has been to her. He started opening back up to me and told me that he had almost given up on meeting anyone as his girlfriend. He said he had asked other ladies to go out with him but they had all turned him down. He said, though, that when he saw Amanda on their first date that it was love at first site for him. I thought it was so sweet!! It was all I could do to keep from getting choked up. He told me, not saying when of course, that he wants to marry her in a few years. I was honestly suprised that he was as open with me, but Mark is just that way. When he thinks of something he just goes ahead and says it LOL.
I wanted to start this discussion also to show the latest picture I have taken of them. I am proud of all that I have taken but I think this is the best one of them. I'm afraid it may be a little blurry, my mess up, but hopefully it will be seeable.

That IS a good picture. Has Amanda been losing weight with you? She looks like she has. I just love hearing true stories about love, love that doesn't require all the gawdy things society would like us to believe we need to have within a relationship. Keep on with the updates, I really enjoy them! : )

Hi Amber!! Yep, Amanda is working on losing weight also. When we took her for her heart checkup last month her doctor told her that he wants her to lose 30 pounds before she comes back next year and she is really working on it. :) I'm glad you are enjoying the updates. :) It is a lot of fun for me sharing them with everyone. Amanda gets a kick out of it knowing that I am sharing it here on MyLot. Mark would probably want to whip me LOL if he knew I was sharing all of this. :) I'll let you know anymore developmnets. I did not know they had a museum. Do they still have the store where you can buy things? I have always wanted to go there. I had a friend and coworker that told me about it years ago. She had been to it. I have mentioned going there to my hubby a few times but we still haven't gone.
LOL, I don't blame her for not wanting to see the underwear exhibit again.

It was called the Unclaimed Baggage Museum. It is located in Scottsboro, Alabama. They enjoyed it becaise they said it is amazing what all people leave on airplanes and never come back to get them. The only thing they didn't like about it, and this amazed me, was that there was a section of UNDERWEAR that people had left on airplanes and they had all of this on exhibit!! Can you believe that??? Amanda was extremely embarrassed and so was Mark, but Mark laughed at the look on her face LOL!! She asked him "If we ever go back can we please skip that section?" He laughed and said they would. Amanda is like me, she embarrasses easily and I'm sure her face was blood red LOL!! But she, Mark and I were both talking about it after they told me and we all agreed that was totally awful that they put that on exhibit.

I am so glad that the Weekend went well and that they had a good time together it is also Sweet that he opened up to you like that I am just happy that the Girl has found someone special in her Life and that will get her through everything I know it will, she won't want me to support her with it, she will want Mark as he is her Rock, but she knows where I am Sweetie and you do to I am always here for you both and you know that

Oh no I didn't mind Sweetie, I mean Mark means the world to her but she knows I am here to if she needs me Sweetie that's all you know I love you both I think just before the Date I will ring and talk to her as I don't know when I can get the new Web cam the one I bought crashed my Lap top and the one I need now is to expensive so I have to wait a bit

Oh Gaby, please don't think that she won't want you for support Sweetie!!! She will definitely want to talk with you more hon. You are very special to her just like you are to me and she knows you will always be there for her.
She told me this morning that his family reunion that he wants her to go to with him will be two weeks from today so they will have another busy weekend then LOL!! I don't know, of course, but I have a feeling he will come to see her the day before, stay in a hotel again and then pick her up that Sunday morning to head for the reunion. He might not do that though, they may plan it some other way. But that thought crossed my mind.

I am really happy for Amanda, it sure sounds like he has good intentions. I am happy for you as well. When the kids are happy we're happy and no matter what no matter their ages they are still our babies. Oh I can just see you now Shelia, come the wedding day you'll need a whole cartoon of tissue. You'll be crying before Mark has a chance to speak. ha ha. I should know hehehe

Oh my goodness maybe you should plan this wedding at a beach, no need for tissue. I am so pleased for these two kids, I really am.

I may need more than one carton of tissue LOL!! I'm a softie when it comes to my kids and a big cryer also. :) My mother is just like me so between the two of us it will take a lot LOL!! I am very happy for her Grandma because you are right, it makes me happy to see her happy. I will be the same way for my son when his time comes. :)

Oh, that is just so sweet. Im glad they had a good time. There really is someone for everyone:) And maybe even wedding bells in the future? Only time will tell.

I truly believe that God has someone in mind for everyone and I believe that he is God's mate for Amanda. If you read some of my earlier discussions you will know that Amanda had a bad experience a year ago with a man that was very traumatic for her. Mark came into her life at a time when she really needed someone. That was why I told him this morning that he has truly been a blessing for her. Thanks for responding and I'll keep everyone updated. :)
