what do you class as honest? is the little white lie ok? the odd fib to small children about things they dont know is ok i think personally. what about if somebody was taking advantage of yr friend by lying would you risk your friendship trying too save the getting hurt??

I try to always be honest, I think if someone was lying to one of my friends I would talk to the person lying and give them the chance to come clean before I tell my friend whats really going on. But I would tell them if that failed and maybe bring some kind of proof(if posible). I hate seeing someone take advantage or using my friends!

That is one hell of a question you are raising there my dear. That word alone "honesty".I class honesty as being true to everything and everyone,a white lie now and then as not to hurt feelings. But do people know what honesty really is,I do not think so. Just an example:
I was employed at a hotel in Cape Town, South Africa called The Twelve Apostles Hotel where i was employed for 5 years as a Night Manager then resigned on a very good note with a clean record, etc.I returned two years later on a contractual basis for a period of six months. Now,we were given a float of R2000.00 for forex exchange or anything that the guest request to be purchased etc, etc.I however was negligent in not counting my float but when I actually did count I discovered a R500.00 missing. Not knowing what to do I told the security manager to check the cameras, but to no avail.I then informed my superior and that led to a dismissal.First of all I informed the company, and not the other way round, they did not catch me or something. If not reported by me they never would have known.I told them the HONEST truth and yet they did not believe me.Do you have any IDEA how that hurts, especially when you LOVE the company to bits.Up till today it hurts just thinking of what happened.I never would have stolen or even borrowed money from the company. It hurts just typing this.........PLEASE COMMENT

thats an admirable thing to do but in my experience it doesnt get you all that far. but on the other hand i guess you friend would be hurt either way. i do always try as i think they would be a lil more hurt if you knew and didnt say. its a lil difficult knowing what to do
