Have You Ever Had Such A Vivid Dream As This?

The past few nights my dreams have been extremely vivid. I know some it has to do with the anxiety medication that I'm on, which is Effexor XR. However, my dream last night was unusually vivid and it's the best one that I have had in a really long time.
I really wanted to preserve the dream in my memory and so I wrote it down in my Multiply blog. Here's the link (it's public and so you don't need an account to view it):

Hopefully, the link above will work. In any case, the dream was very vivid and very detailed. I felt as though I were really there and I can see things really clearly.
Have any of you ever had a dream where it seemed so real and vivid? What do you think about it?
I think that dreams are our subconscience living a dream that we have inside ourselves. Or maybe they are just a way for us to do what we're incapable of doing in real life. Who knows...What's your thoughts on this?

Sometimes I can remember my dream and sometimes I forget it after I wake up. I don't know why I can remember, but some thing I really remembered very clearly after wake up. In my dream, sometimes there always a very perticular discripe of one act or one expression. I can remember some dream which is very long time past. Many times I dream that I can fly, and someone are run after me want to get me, then I fly to avoid catched. But at that just moment, I always can't fly, or will fly after the person is very near me. This kind of dream is always horrible.

I agree, I really hate the dreams where I'm being chased and things like that. Thanks for sharing and for your comment :-)

I didn't read your dream yet, but I will after I post this.
When I was on an anti depressant several years ago, (Paxil), I had a dream one night that might be hard for me to describe to you here, but I'll try my best.
It was like my whole vision area was filled with a design that was the coolest thing I ever saw. It was like the mechanical parts inside of a clock. Millions of them all turning and twisting around each other and I could see each piece close-up, all the details in each piece and they were all different and turning in different directions but all working cooperatively together.
When I woke up in the middle of this dream, I had to go to the bathroom but it was still night. I opened my eyes and COULD STILL SEE IT!!!
I saw all those moving parts in front of my eyes as I walked into the bathroom, and it gradually faded away.
But it was so cool, I didn't want it to go away! I wished I could have got back to that same dream when I went back to sleep but I never saw anything like it again.

Wow, that's really cool! I have had that happened to me, where I was dreaming and then I woke up and I could still see apart of the dream but I think it was because I was half awake. Still, it was pretty interesting ;-P

i have had vivid dreams that seemed very real that i thought it was really happening and unaware i am dreaming until someone in the dream mentioned something and i realized that it is all a dream...
one was when i was in the afterlife...it felt like an out of body experience and i was in another world and i felt confused, wondering where i am and what is going on. just looking around, trying to figure everything out...it was a paradise place...but too perfect and pure...
a nightmare felt real that i woke up right away because i thought it was really happening to me. a weird looking couple break in my place and try to kill me by injecting a lethal injection into my veins. i fight them. the whole time, i am lying in my bed, wearing the same pj that i was currently wear when i was dreaming it...they become angry and the man comes at me, but i wake up fast.

I have been on that very medication and experienced the wildly vivid dreams you're talking about. I do feel like I should tell you that while Effexor XR did it's job and helped me, when I was weaning off of it my vivid dreams turned to nightmares. I would have a nightmare and realize I was not awake, wake myself to look at the clock and think, "Oh, it's almost time to get up and I don't want another nightmare - I'll stay up." Then I'd *really* wake up and it would only be midnight. Be prepared to wean off of the meds very slowly and only with a Dr.'s care.
In the meantime, enjoy the dreaming!

Well, this is my third time on this medication and I really have never experienced this while weaning myself off Effexor Xr but I know every medication effects people in diffrent ways but thanks for the heads up!
I do have to add that I do agree that the Effexor XR does cause you to dream more because everytime I have been put on it I have had more vivid dreams, more dreams just in itself...

If you usually have unusual dreams with all the details after you wake up, the real reason should be your disruptive sleep. You must have some tense in mind or worries which can sharply reduce the sleep quality. Generally speaking, dreams could be remembered vividly when sleeping mind was interrupted sharply. So, to have a sound sleep is very important to our health.

I do not agree, according my understanding the kind of dream depends on the positive or negative energy surrounding us.

I always have severely vivid dreams. Sometimes I wonder if they'll ever stop one day. I don't want them to go away, but I constantly feel like if I get into them so much one day they'll just disappear. That tends to happens to me. I really enjoy having detailed dreams because they usually end up meaning something to me.

I know what you mean, I hope that my vivid dreams don't stop but I don't think they will. The only way they'll stop is if our brain stops working and I for one, hope that never happens ;-)

i had a nightmare which is vivid. It's about a girl appear in the lake and keep asking me for help. The surrounding was misty and eerie. i can see the girl's face clearly under the moonlight. The girl told me about her past and that she was murdered and her body was thrown into the lake. When i woke up the next morning, i can still recall the dream in detailed.
Hopefully it's just a dream and not the true case...
