I just joined a site about lycophene it seems like a pretty good site.I'm very interested about the subject. One subject that got my attention is recipes for microwaves.I never wanted a microwave in my house.I never found it safe. When I see people warm a baby's bottle in one I have a hard time not losing my cool.If I could I would report that parent for child abuse.Try doing this tests and watch the results.Take some seeds, all the same kind from the same packets and take to planter pots.Make sure they are the same kind and size.Put soil from the same bag in both pots. Now plant the same amout of seed in each pot.Heat some water in the microwave and let it cool to room temperatureand pur that water in one pot.Mark the pot Mic.Now take another cup of water from the tap, about the same amount and pour it in the other pot.Mark this pot Reg.Put the pots in a dark spot for at least 8 hours.Take the plant and put it in the same spot.Keep watering Mic with microwave water and Reg with tap water and watch the plants grow.I won't have to tell you the results. You'll see it yourself. All the people I know that got cancer have microwaves.

There was cancer way before the micro wave was invented. So, if you implying that micro waves causes cancer, I see why you are saying what you are saying. But personally, I do not think so. Now a days, everything causes cancer, if you stop using everything that is claimed to cause cancer, I guess we may as well go back to cave man living.

I didn't say that microwaves are the only ones that cause cancer. It is just one of the things we use that does.By the way who ever put that Canadian Tire add on here got something to say about time.Pressure cookers are just as fast and a lot healthier for you.I know the list of things that cause cancer is too large to put on here.We are being lied to by big coporations all the time through the media.Just trying to get people to wake up and see safer ways of life which may cost you a lot less.

@divinelight50 I am aware that there was an urban legend going around about microwaved water and plants and that Snopes (and others) did their own controlled experiments and proved the legend false. Am I right in assuming that you have not actually done this experiment yourself? I think it is plant abuse to water with tap water, at least where I live because the tap water has chlorine and flouride and other nasties added to it. Boiling would or could concentrate these chemicals, whether done in a microwave or stovetop so I think that would invalidate your experiment. I agree, however, with your comment on pressure cookers.

First off why don't u feel a microwave to be safe? And why would you report a person for child abuse when they are warming up the babies bottle? There is something deeper here that I don't understand why you are bashing the microwave. It is as safe as any other appliance in your house. All the people I know that got cancer have microwaves. Just because they have a microwave doesn't mean they got cancer from the microwave. No one is to blame for getting cancer. We all have cancerous cells in our bodies and some get brought out with something where others will have no affect whatsoever on them.
