We just finished celebrating our Independence Day here in the USA. On July 4, 1776, some patriots wrote a document declaring their independence from England. So, on this day we celebrate our country and count our blessings for all the good things about it. We have parades, concerts, picnics and bar-b-cues. We have lots of fireworks, both individually and community wide. Most of our towns and cities have a pretty big fireworks display at night.
I am interested in knowing if other countries have an independence day, when it is and how it is celebrated. Please share with us.

It does seem like the world is getting smaller and more intertwined, doesn't it. Thanks for replying, Raydene.

How interesting that India and Pakistan received their independence so close together--but you beat India by one day! Thank you for sharing.
