i don't really know why it would be disadvantageous for women to work in a call center aside probably from safety issues in travel time and such... around 70% of the people where i work are women and most of our line managers are women as well so it's not really a management issue.

I worked in a telephone exchange for a few years and it was good when I first started the main objective was to give service to the customer but then it was all about time and money which made it a horrible place to work..when I first started it was nearly all women then just a few men came to work there and now they have all closed down because of the computer world..

Hi mayank, i had worked in a call center, but due to night shift and work presurre i discontinued.. Yes i agree with you that the management has taken care fro females and has changed a lot for the security.. i am planing to join back but only if i get day shift, i dont want my health to suffer again. its like working so hard for money and at the end giving the money in the hospital... enjoy

Hey i am a lady and i have worked for a call center and i think if u need to make quick money then nothing like it. I worked for 2 years since i was in a financial crunch but now once i have met those needs i decided to quit. It depends on how u plan yr finances and no one pays like call centers pay and u dont have to face 10 bosses. u and yr customer over the phone, we are the drivers of the cab and we should be in full control of the call. And above all see that u plan yr finances well, but as for my personal experience i have seen young boys n girls asking for money by the end of the month without any financial obligations, that's according to me foolishness. at the same time i have seen some youth invest in home loans and once they are done or have paid or have invested in a house plan their finances n in a period of 4 to 5 years quit. i think i spoke a lot sorry folks.

I have done, though not at the moment. Who thinks it's unsuitable for women? The call centres I've worked in had roughly 7,000 staff, and well over half of those were women.
