Two days ago my family and I went to the mall and we spent hours playing in the arcade till' midnight. I don't usually do that because I'm not the kind of person who would spend my money just playing games in the arcade. I find it a waste of time and for me you'll get nothing out of it. Its just a waste of money. But I was surprised I found myself enjoying what I'm doing. I've also observed that the crowd is not just kids and teenagers but all ages are there. I also played a lot and spent a lot to my surprise. To tell you the truth me and my brothers are already planning of going back and play.
So what is it in arcade games that makes people wanna come back and play more and spend more? Though there a lot of video games already available in the market. You can play it at home anytime and you don't have to spend money every time you play.
I wonder..
What about you friend? Do you play in the arcade?

hi iskayz!I'm not much of an arcade gal either. And I don't remember even remotely stepping inside an arcade during my school days. But a few months back, I was addicted to the arcade for like a few weeks. My brother and his girlfriend brought me to the arcade and we spent the entire afternoon until midnight in there. First, we got addicted to those claw vending machines and we got like more than ten cute little stuffed toys. Maybe that's what got me addicted. And also this arcade where we go to have karaoke rooms. So we would spend our time (and money) singing in the karaoke. We would spend almost every weekend playing. Those days were so much fun. But we stopped already, after we lost all our money and everyone got busy.

Yes those claw vending machines are really fun. My brother got a price from that game. He caught up a big stuff toy. He spent hours and days and money just to get the toy.
Maybe its the prices that keeps people coming back in the arcade. No matter how small the price is but the excitement you 'll experience winning it is priceless.
Ciao!

Because it has great memories attached. I would blow $10 bucks easy and I didn't care, it felt good to try and win. We all want to be king or queen for a while. I would play Defender or Galaga for hours, now that they are on line, its not the same. I need the noise that comes with the game, the pretzle and Dr. Pepper for refreshment. Its part of our childhood.

The noise.. You know when my brothers were still young thats what they use to tell me about playing in arcades. They like the noise and the crowd that watches them play and win.
I think our childhood never really disappears. Its still inside us and it comes out whenever we are having fun.
Thanks for responding!

i just play internet arcade games.
when i was younger, i used to play in arcade, once in a while, while in las vegas or other events. but it was rare.
i think it is addictive..the competitiveness to beat ur last score or beat whoever u r playing against..trying to outdo the last score...
