how long du you work in day?

I work for more than 8 hours in a day. I seemed have much job have to do. My collegue and I always work overtime, our boss want each person do two or three person's job. But many people are working under this kind of boss, as the price of thing are rising, no person want to loose their job, although can't bring us much money, but it still can support our life. It's lucky to you just need to do 3-4 hours a day. I think I will start my own business soon, this can make me earn more, and don't have to listen everything to my boss.

Seriously, I usually work those 8 hours, even more depending on the workload. It really depends on what I do, when I was just starting, I work less than 8 hours a day and spend around 1 hr in total surfing and chatting with officemates, now after how many years and a couple of promotions, I find myself buried in piles of work, managing team's hours, and stuffs. I plan to slow down and not burn myself, though. Coz I think I'm beginning to lose the drive to work. hehe.
I hope I can go back to working 6-7 hrs a day...

i work in project consultancy, my work actuwlly does not force me sit in office and work, i can even prepare my presentations at homw, so if i goof around during working hours, i have to make up sometime by stting extra also

Hello knightrider,
I also have 8 hours shift and most of this hours is spend working. You have emails to read, report to do, line to sustain, hold lots to process, projects to finish, and other things my boss want me to do. If they see you not doing anything they'll find some work for you to do. But it's not like that everyday, it depends on the company situation. It's harder when the company is not doing well, they will always find you something to do. It is good because it's like job security. If you are not doing anything, it looks like they don't need you anymore and your days are number. But like you, I can still fine some time doing non related work.

I work about 12 hours a day, 8 hours at my Company office and 4 hours at home. That keeps me fairly busy and occupied. But, I enjoy that very much. There are so many very interesting things to learn about our world.
