I am always thinking that myLot has moderators. But I don't know how many moderators myLot should have. Presently, they have about 135,116 members. I remember that I ever responded to one discussion. But that discussion was deleted by myLot. I think it is very time consuming to view every posting of 135,116 members. Does myLot use software to view the postings of their members? OR does they use live moderators? If so, do you know who myLot's moderators are? I am just curious.....

Mylot moderators are only moderating what is reported.
135.000 members... Yes... but only 10.000 are active members.
One staff member came over a few months ago "Crash"... but I have not seen him lately. He was extremely evasise in answering questions and I feel... was only here to test the water...
I think we were more that he could handle.
He was probably a programmer... and programmers don't know anything... except programming. Their life is guided by rules and books. Real life is not like that.

Aussies2007,
As I said in my other discussion, you always have stereotypes on others. Don't you ever think about being positive toward others? No wonder if others are also thinking like that toward you. Life is often a mirror to what you're doing.

Well I happen to know a couple of programmers and I know what their life is like.
As for Crash... as I don't know the person... I can only be stereotype about him.
But he came on this forum... and answered a lot of questions without answering them... if you know what I mean.
Reading his answers... it was very obvious to me that he came here on the pretence of wanting to know what he could do for us... while he was here to find out what was good for him.

Aussies2007,
I asked if myLot has moderators. I don't want to know and don't want to care about what kind of their life is. Why do you care about their life?

In the guidelines it is not mentioned or anywhere in the site that there are moderators here but I hav recevied that there are mods in here. Moderators daily delete discussion which deem that have violated the guidelines. they are invisible. No one know who they are.

There are moderators on Mylot, but they are not active as they are on other message boards. In other words, they won't take any action against a member who is not following the terms of agreement, unless another member reports them. Of course, I'm not a hundred percent sure of this. There's definitely an air of mystery as to how Mylot actually functions, but I make the assumption based on my time here.

I'm sure they have live moderators, i don't think a moderating 'software' could ever exist...it may sound crazy with the number of discussions started, but then again not all of them need moderation...when a situation gets out of hand it's more likely to be seen by a moderator.
There's also a little report abuse button next to the minus and plus signs that i'm sure helps a lot to moderate.

Hey i am also wondering that how many of the moderators may be working to control the discussions made by a very large number of the users. Most of the times i found my posts got deleted and also twice i found discussions were deleted from my list,so i think there are the moderators who delete all these posts which are found not in the agreement with the terms and conditions of the site.So i thionk there can be the moderator or may be the mylot is using some software or the system to have a check on the posts and the discussions.

I think we are all myLot moderators. That's the reason for the report link [!] in every post. Whenever a bad response is made, or a discussion which breaks the guidelines is started, some good myLot members will report it and it gets deleted.
I'm sure there are other forms of monitoring. I know that certain words and actions are not allowed and an automatic message appears if you try to post a bad word or if you try to do something you are not entitled to do.
I recently reported a nasty racist discussion, and the person who started it was also using bad language by inserting asterisks into swear words. I'm sure I was not the only person to report the discussion. It was deleted and the member was banned from posting again.
There are so many active members at myLot around the clock so that if the people in myLotland are asleep, there are plenty of members reading all the latest posts to ensure the rules are not broken, and if they are the post will be deleted.

I'm sure mylot has to have moderators and administrators... there have to be The Powers That Be. Or it would become very chaotic here... But maybe it's like the aliens, you know? We think they are out there, but we don't know for sure :P LOL With all the respect to the moderators if they are reading it.

It would be interesting to find out. I don't think they can have live moderators, as it would take too much time to scan through everybody's posts. That is unless, they have hired a couple thousand workers, which is, to say, highly unlikely. You'd think that they would have a couple, just to sort out posts and delete spam and bad posts. But they must have some kind of software for the earnings, because that would take too long to sort through thousand and thousands of responses and discussions that go on each day here.
