Hi Jenni, Just wondering how your little puglet is doing? Has he still got the spots and did you go get it checked out at the vets? Hope he is getting better :)

This could be uncomfortable for your puggle, so see a vet. It is impossible to be able to tell what these are without seeing them so go to your regular vet for advice! I doubt home remedies will work if you don't know exactly what the problem is. Also, if it is something more serious like a reaction, it could end up costing you a lot more money inthe long run if you don't go and see about it now.

My first thought would be fleas. Check the base of the tail, the anal area, around the ears and the armpits/"legpit" areas for fleas or flea poop, which looks like little black specs of dirt. We use Advantage from the vet, but there are also home remedies with varying results, such as garlic pills (I've recently read that these can be toxic, so do some research!). Other possible causes are allergies--maybe your dog is biting itself to try to "scratch", or other insect/pest bites, such as ants. You can try an oatmeal-based dog shampoo to alleviate itching. If your dog is miserable, go to the vet for a prescription!
