Do you write for any other website and how do you manage?

Hello there, everybody :)
Ever since I joined mylot I've been wondering. You see, I am loving the fact that in a way, mylot is paying me for my writing, for my opinions and my knowledge that I share here.
But the thing is, I am a writer and I write not only on mylot. I write stories and reviews and articles. Not to mention posting on my blogs.
Now, I also get paid at those other places for my writing. Places like reviewstream and helium.
Now what I've been having the biggest problem is time management. I don't want my other activities to suffer because of mylot. I would really love for all my writing sources to bring me income...
So my question is. Do you write for other websites? If yes, do you still make payouts on those other sites? How do you manage your writing time?
And if no... Is your payout on mylot more than that minimum $10??

I've recently started writing for Associated Content and you can get paid upfront for your articles that are accepted, and also still earn from page views from all articles, whether they are accepted for upfront payment or not.
If you get offered a payment for your article, you don't have to wait until you reach a certain amount for payment, they pay you for each article that is accepted within a few days of its publication.
For page views, you are paid each month that you accumulate $1.50, and that is easy to do in a month's time.
If you've not looked at it before, please look at my profile for a link to my blog. I've had two articles published and was paid for them, and I have several more articles submitted that should be published any day now.

If you've written articles elsewhere you can still post them on AC for page views. You've got nothing to lose, and some people do quite well with page views only.
I just published several last night that I didn't want to bother with upfront money for. Page views are already trickling in.
Two of the articles are about myLot - take a gander at my profile if you'd like to read them!

I have not been impressed with Associate Content. I cannot believe some of what is posted there. The grammar and spelling are horrible on some articles.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Unfortunately as a Non-US citizen I do not qualify for their upfront payments. So for me AC is just like any other site that pays only for page views... So it's nothing special for me... And I don't want to take on another writing website before I can learn to manage my writing time better :)
Than you for your response though :) It's always good to have someone's testimony :)

I write for five websites. I don't get paid very much except by one which pays me $20.00 a post for a maximum total of $200.00 a month or 10 posts in all. I belong to a fee based website where you share in the sites profits depending on how many readers you have. I basically belong to that site because I like the community it creates, and would actually miss people if I left. I don't even know these people in reality and now that I think about it that sounds slightly pathetic. The third site I belong to pays me $50.00 a month no matter how much work I do. All I have to do is write one post of three paragraphs or more and I get $50.00. If I wrote 5 posts I would also get $50.00. The last site I write for is Suite 101 and I haven't had much luck there yet. I submitted one article but they didn't like it. I think I'll hit my stride during election season as politics really are my field. Writers get paid badly anyway - even famous ones and those of us who are trying to eek out a living online are at the bottom of that pile.

The websites I get paid the best for picked me because I can write about disability issues. You couldn't write for them unless you were disabled and in another case both disabled and female with a speech impairment. Even so, my bosses would have to pick you! Sorry!

I don't write for a whole lot of websites as I also have an outside job and am an artist, so I just don't have time to write on every site I see. I also have my own website and blogs, too. Mostly, I write for Mylot, but when I want to write about something more serious, I write for Associated Content. If I just want to write about something that's fun and short, but longer than what I write here, I write for Gather. I may re-publish some of my articles for AC on other sites. But, I'm so new at AC right now, I think I'll stick to just them in that regard.

Hello, Calajane!
I am glad that you are liking myLot! It is in fact a great community, and you can always enjoy your time here. There are interesting people, folks who really care about each other in here.
I do not use any other website. I have tried to join one or another writting website, but they were too complicated. And they paid such a few fees for those who wrote at them, that I thought it was better to stick to myLot.
Anyway, myLot does consume a little bit of your time, doesn't it? I just hope you enjoy the time you spend writting in here, and I also hope you make good friends! It is worth it, in my opinion.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

It is hard to find the time to do all the writing you need to make income. I have written for Shared Reviews and have an
Account at Reviewstream. I make more than the minimum ten dollar payment but it is pretty time consuming. I may give it up, when I find a site I like that pays better than my lot.

Yes, I write for other sites. One is a real writer's site - one where one can take classes, get real reviews on one's writing, enter writing contests, etc. Of course, it costs money to be a member of a site like that.
I also am a member of a site similar to this one. My earnings there are about four times greater than here.
I refuse to write for helium - because they have one writer who has stolen at least 4 of my articles word for word. I have reported her and the owner/s managers of that site have done nothing.
I come here and to the other similar site more for the social networking part.
If I want to earn money writing, I search Writer's Market, or one of my writer's newsletters (Writer's Weekly, for instance) for markets that pay.
I sold one article for $150, then turned around and sold it as a reprint to another publication for $100.

I also don't like helium because they insist that all titles be done in the same way - their way. Titles are some of my favorite things to write. I write titles that sizzle!

Hello there
I would love to get a link to that other site that pays better. I don't mind if it's a referral link :) I'd love it if you would pm it to me :)
I understand your dislike to helium. So far they haven't done anything to annoy me, so I'm sticking to them :)
And congrats onselling your writing :) I haven't reached that professional level. :P YET :P LOL
Thanks for your response. :)

Hello there! It is always a good idea to write for multiple websites. Some websites pay bigger than others so if you really want to earn substantial amount of money, you just have to manage your time better. Anyway, as you grow into the online writing business, you will learn to manage your time better.

I have set my mylot payout is much larger then then minimum! I actually set mine at $100 but may change it to $50 just so I can get paid quicker. Time is a big factor to me and I have to do what I can to make what I can. The plan with me is to make as much as I can and then invest it so it can make more for me while I am making even more to invest even more! I don't write for other websites since it takes so long to type things out. It all depends on your goal and what you like to do!

I have wrestled with this problem too.
Yes, I like to blog on MySpace but the time business is indeed a problem.
Also, I don't have my own PC at home. I use the office machine.
My solution is to get a machine for home use and use it there at all hours. Whenever I get the time or feeling or both.
Meanwhile I come into the office on weekends and after hours just to use the PC on MyLot.
The idea is to use as much time as possible and see how far I can take it.
They do say the net uses you for your time. That could be true.
On MyLot my payment is set at $ 100. Less might be too little even if it takes a while to make up the $ 100.

$100 is a lot :) I hope you reach it soon :) I'll keep my fingers crossed :) I do have a PC at home, but it's being used by my whole family. I think it will be easier to manage various writing projects when I get my laptop fixed :)
Thanks for your responnse :)

I write for a private site for the youngsters - dictionary and things for the encyclopedia in the site and it takes me a lot of time and energy. But I love it. Sometimes I just want to quit but I know it will be rewarding at the end when I will know almost all the word in the dictionary (in Hebrew). have a nice day !

I write on both Associated Content and Helium, as the mood takes me (which I might have mentioned before). Used to do quite a bit on Yahoo answers, until I found this place and discovered they might pay me for typing whatever random thought comes into my head ;)
One of the reasons I joined here was I figured it would be a good place to put links to articles, which I've done a few times. Hard to tell what impact it's had on there, as it's early days, and AC have yet to update their statistics (Holiday week and all).
Made payout on both; once on Helium (About $26), and numerous times on AC equalling about the same amount. They don't have much of a minimum, and if you write something with an upfront payment, they just send it you.

I'm not a member of AC, because I"m not a US citizen and I'm not qualified for the upfront payment. Which is not cool, so I just stick to Helium :) I am awaiting day I will make my payment, though I am not very active there. Mostly because mylot took over my life. Hence my question here :)
Thank you for your response and good luck with all the writing :)
