My 5 year old daughter won't listen to me. It even said on her first school report that she needs to listen to others! She listens sometimes but most of the time i find myself having to say things over and over, and then when she still doesn't listen i find myself shouting and threatening her with taking away toys, tv time, junk food, etc....How can i make her listen?

Well she def is five at thats really when you start to learn a childs personality. She starts becoming herself...maybe sassy maybe stubborn, maybe fiesty. I'm sure she is a lovely kid. Shes just being a child. My daughter is six and she is just a free spirit and I use to be so stressed out. My little girl is very opinionated and well spoken. She said mom I'm sorry do you know how many things run through my mind all day long. I wonder about my dog, hannah montanta, ice cream, candy. She said I just cant stop thinking about all these things mom. It was just too sweet, yes she doesnt listen that well, but she is just too busy trying to figure out her own little mind. Or having fun to her is giggling extremely loudly and jumping rope in the house. Now I've also taught her when she has just gone to far. Thats when I tell her ok you need to go to your room honey cause mommy is very upset with you. I come into her room later and have a chat with her and tell her now look mom respects you by letting you be a kid and having fun but I also expect for you to do things when mom asks. She of course will go from frowning to clowing saying ok mom I'm sorry jeez. This is just away I discipline my child I'm not by far saying this will work for everyone but It definately has built a beautiful bond I have with my precious little girl.

If she is doing it at school too I would think it needs to be checked out just to be sure it isn't just stubbornness.
