I always see couples sharing pet names with their special someones... Most of the common ones are "mine", "baby", "honey", and others...
What do you guys think of them? Are they really necessary?
I think some of them are cute... others, downright cheap! It depends on the couple, I guess... but I'm open to your opinions. ^-^

well, i think it's the way they both express themselves...sometimes it's really sweet to call your special someone something that's cute and unique..

I don't mind short and sweet ones like "baby"
I wouldn't like to be called anything long and corny though.
Honeybunchessnookumssweetiekins. Haha. I don't know. You know what I'm talking about though right?
My ex used to call me his kitty. I was ok with that too.

I think having pet names in the relationship isn't wrong.. I think this will be one way for your codes like if there is someone text you or send you letter, you can find out whether the text or letter you had receive came from your bf or gf.. You can find some clues like your pet names or some password i think.. Me and my boyfriend have a pet name which is "bebe" and we have our own password.. So whenever I receive some letters in my lockers or text, I would know that he is the one who do it because of the password and the usual thing he texted me or sending some notes or letters.. It is nice to have something like that because no one can fool your relationship...

I think it adds a little bit of sweetness to the relationship if you give each other pet names. My girlfriend and I have at least three pet names for each other.
