crime caught on tape

So I was on TMZ.com today and they had a story about a guy that was shot after coming out from a club. They had it on tape of the getaway car and all the evidence that the cops need to nab the perp. On the forum some people were complaining saying that the camera guy should have went over to the victim and helped him. I jumped on the forum too and said that he did the right thing by getting the license plate, having a description of the guy who did it and stayed around at the crime scene to talk to the cops. In my opinion, if a someone is shot, and I was a witness, I am not moving the victim or tampering with the crime. I will stand there and call 911 and wait for the authorities. What do you think?
