Do You Take Vitamin B12 Supplements or Get it in Your Food?

I'm not a supplement type of person and don't like to take any pills. I realize that the B12 in my food is added, but to me that's better than taking a pill for it. So I drink soy milk with added B12 and eat other processed foods containing this vitamin. What do you do for B12?

I take a multi vitamin that has it in it. Well...I do most times. I have a hard time actually taking pills daily. I just get lazy or just don't want to take them. Esp big horse pill sized vitamin LOL.

Me too, I could never remember to take pills daily. Even when I'm sick and I absolutely have to take something, I usually have to put up huge reminders for myself. And I'll take the least amount possible. When I had my wisdom teeth out, I took all of the antibiotics, but none of the pain pills because they weren't absolutely essential.

I am the exact same way. I don't even bother going to the doctor when I'm sick anymore - unless I'm extremely bad - because it's just a waste of time and money. I prefer letting the sickness/cold run its course. My gastrologist gave me a script to help with my constant nausea but I didn't take it cause it had horrid side effects. When I went back I told her so she changed it to something that is acutally supposed to help my gastritis - which helps with the nausea.

I go in and then just tell them what I want. Usually, they'll go for it. But now that I have insurance things have changed a bit, for the worse mostly since there is more protocol to follow when "helping" someone who has insurance. Today I got 2 moles removed though when I went in for one. If I didn't care about the biopsies, I suppose I could have done those myself too. But I'm not that crazy. Well, usually.

I suffer from occasional anemia and so I take the B12 tablets for that if I don't manage to get enough in my foods. Gotta have that vitamin!

Interesting, I didn't know that B12 helped with anemia. I used to have that a lot when I was younger. Now I haven't had a problem for almost a decade.

When I was a teenager I got anemia. First I was taking Geritol liquid (tastes like a rusty nail LOL) Then I was getting iron shots from the doctor, those hurt like crazy! Then he told me to take B12 which I did for years. As an older adult, the anemia comes once in a blue moon so it isn't that bad

I don't want to take medicines if it's not necessary. So I prefer to get the elements from the food. It's natural and be sure it won't be harmful. I love China

Once upon a time, when I was a vegetarian, I had to take a supplement. It was a "complete" supplement, but I mostly took it for the B12. Now, I have a diet that provides B12. No more pills.

Yeah, a vegan diet doesn't naturally have B12 in it. I've found that it's added to most processed vegan meals however, so I still don't take a supplement.

Why will you have to take this as a pill one day? Just curious.
