i wonder how many companies have their audit committee?
especially indonesian company.
do you aware of this?
that there's only few of indonesian company have audit committee..
and do you aware of audit committe function?

no, you are wrong..almost company in Indonesia have been audited by independence auditors or by Governments laureate. This happens since year of 2000 to accomplished the good governance program. if you want to know, how many Indonesian company have been audited, you can go to the Indonesian Institute of Accountants at iaiglobal.or.id. you can see that institute has a program called annual report award 2008.

there's nothing to do with an external/independence auditors.
but yes this thing is to comply with good corporate governance.
audit committee work for commissioner..
why commissioner need to have audit committee?
it helps commissioners to take decision to sign the annual report.
commissioners need to convince themselves that the board of director did their job properly.

i think the audit not a simple things like that. the main "case" to have an audit especially for independent audit. for example, in Indonesia, since 2001, the minister of labor express a new rule and law about the employee benefit. it also said that the employment benefit must assignment by independent auditors. before that, the new rule and law about the deferred tax issued from the minister of the Republic of Indonesia, to constrain the company to appropriate its current financial for the tax to be paid for the next year.
