what are the possible problems of my monitor?

my monitor is three years standby because of not using it by programming, surfing ,exploring cause in that time we dont have a current to power the monitor.....and now i try to use it, i connect the cord to the cpu and keyboard also the mouse but the monitor, it shows on the screen a vertical line with a color green on that line then as if no current will flow because just like when you shut off, only the LCD you will see the gray color.....but the power indicator is still functioning and the color of it is green...i dont know what is the problem on it....can you help me....i need an advice....

if it is an old monitor, maybe it is not functioning well and needs to be replaced. Make sure that the cpu is working with other monitor. Because there are instances that the cpu is blackout where there will be no display.

my monitor is one hundred percent running and i try it in different monitors....aside from replacing the monitor what can you suggest.... thanks for your response.......

i advised you not to use that monitor even if you put it in a sealed room with a span of 3 years the part inside might have develop a rust or filled with dust that's why it's not functional anymore! better not to use it!

yeah you right...when i open my cpu there is a rust on the cover on it and there is a many shield of insects i dont think that monitor have it too....but i so lucky that my cpu was still working...thanks for sharing
