is it going out of fashion

when invited for a meal at family ,friends do you take flowers,a bottle of wine,a dish to eat with the meal or for them to enjoy later or do you like me take nothing because they say just bring youself. years ago it was the thing to do to take a little something for the hostess. i also helped with the dishes .don't do that either nor will i let them help me with mine. i do them after they have gone home. is this tradition still going stong or is it slowly going out of fashion.

It depends but I usually bring something with me and usually it's for dessert. I think it has also has something to do with the culture. There are some places where when invited you're not supposed to bring something for they might be offended. Just play it by the ear.

times change ,it's nice to recieve and give a little something I was starting to think this ritual may have dissapeared.
