I dont know about how the police, in your part of the world, pull people over now a days, but in my state it seems that they need to park behind the vehicle they are pulling at a DIAGONAL angle which sometimes leaves their front ends in the traffic lane. I understand why they park like this, but I dont understand why they cant pull farther over if they have the room. This morning on my way to take my son to work, I had to come to a complete stop on a very busy 4 lane road because a policeman had a car pulled and I couldnt get past his front end. So I had to stop and wait for the lane next to me to clear so I could get over (and so did the other cars in front and behing me) there was ample room for him to have pulled over farther in the median, but for some reason he didnt seem to think it necessary to get out of traffics way. ON that same road when I was coming home, the samd deputy had another car pulled going the other way and was parked, once agian, with his nose in the street. Cars were stopping for him yet agian. I dont know about you guys but I think that that is totally unsafe.
Sorry, that was my rant for the day ! Thanks for reading and leaving any comments that you think relevant. Have a good day !

The officer has to be in that position so that no one in the vehicle in front of him has a clear shot through his windshield. If he were back farther so as to be completely off the roadway the driver could fire through the front of the cruiser. In Florida, and in many other places I'm sure, there is a law requiring you to move over to the next lane as soon as you see an officer stopped on the side of the road.
